What's in my professional makeup kit?

Ever since I started doing freelance makeup, I get asked a lot about the makeup products I use. Today, I will be sharing a comprehensive list of the products and tools I use including my makeup traincase. The products I use are carefully chosen, well because they don't come cheap. You will notice that I don't tend to gravitate to a single brand. Most of it (I think) are professional quality but I also have quite a few drugstore products that I feel really performs well. Before, you start scrolling be warned that this is a picture heavy post. The photos are not the best of quality as they are only taken using my iphone.  Also, I don't have a lot yet as I am still building my kit. Enjoy!

Disclaimer:
This post is intended to showcase the products I use as a professional makeup artist and not to brag. This gives my potential clients a glimpse of the products I will use on them. This will also help other budding makeup artist an idea of what should be in their pro kits.

I have a black leather traincase/makeup station with trolley. The size is 3XL and is made by Sunrise, the model is BF-495BT-1. You can find more info about this case in the link below:

I also bring with me a couple of hand carry bags. The transparent one was a present I received last Christmas. Suesh and Monda carries this bag. The gray one is from Beabi.

This is how the case looks like when opened. It has 6 bulbs, I use LED to save on electricity and to lessen the amount of heat it emmits. They are a combination of warm white and day light.

This is how it looks like when the trays are expanded.

The top left tray carries my foundation, concealer, corrector, liner and contour and highlight powders. All my makeups are labelled as I don't want to risk losing them.

I have two foundation palettes from Graftobian, its the Glamour HD Foundation in Warm 1 and 2. The concealer palette is from Cinema Secrets in Kit #1. I also have a Nars creamy concealer in ginger beige (I think, I am too lazy to check :p).The corrector is by Makeup International. The contour and highlight powders are from Make Up For Ever (no. 2) and Sleek (fair). The teenie-tiny palette has cream liners, its from Smashbox and I use it for the brows.

The second layer has blushes and a brow powder.

I have four blush by 3 palettes by Sleek (Reds, Plums, Mix of pink and orange and coral), I always carry with me my Nars Orgasm too because a lot of clients want to try it. I also have Collection Shimmer Shade  blush and highlighter/bronzer. A single blush from Collection too and being out of place, an In2it brow powder.
Picture
On the top right, I have a lip palette, a couple of lip pout, an unopened lip balm and a MAC Studio FIx powder + foundation.

I depotted my lipsticks in a palette because it has become a pain to try to seach each lipstick tube when I am in a hurry. They carry brands from MAC, Covergirl, Wet n' WIld, Collection and NYX. If you want to know how I did this, go here. I also have 2 Sleek Paint Pout in a nude and bright pink shade. I find that these two shades when mixed create an array of toned downed nude pinks to really bright loud pinks. I also have an unopened lip balm which I give to clients with really dry lips. The powder is to fill in the space of that tray.

On this tray are a few more lip products and my Make Up For Ever Flash Color.

I have more lip products on this tray. I have a the Make Up For Ever Flash Color palette here which I think is a must have for every makeup artist kit. It can be used as a body paint, lipstick, cream shadow, liner, concealer, foundation, the possibilities are endless! I also have a red lip palette, from Make Up For Ever too. All my tubed lip products are also here, NYX matte lip creams, Collection, Revlon and Prestige lip glosses.

The bottom holds my eyeshadow palettes and a few eyeshadow singles.

I have three neutral palettes, the UD Naked, Naked 3 and Lorac Pro. I also have the UD Smoked palette which is composed of darker shades which are meant to be used in creating smokey eyes. I also put here my Inglot concealer/corrector palette. A Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes and bright single eye shadows from Flarmor (a Turkish drugstore brand).

More eyeshadow palettes from Sleek. The setting powders I use are Ben Nye's Banana and Cameo Luxury Powder. I also have Makeup International Translucent powder, a triple milled loose powder that looks really well in HD. I also threw in a liquid bronzer by Trish McEvoy and the very reliable Skindinavia setting spray.

This tiny clear case holds quite a lot of products. From liquid blush-on to lip liner to mascaras.

In any case you are interested, I don't spend a fortune on Mascaras as you have to discard them every 3 months, the brand I frequently use is Maybelline.

For the brows, I have MAC spiked and Lingering, In2it, Nyx, MAC Girlboy, Etude house and Dolly Wink brow mascara.

My eyeliners are from MAC, Bobbi Brown, Urban Decay, Youngblood, Prestige, Colection, K-Palette, Dolly Wink, Heroine, Maybelline. Don't be fooled, the Make up For Ever one is not a gel liner, it's actually an HD powder in sample size.

Blush are by ELF and lipliners from Cover girl.

The small color wheel is something that I always keep in my kit. I sometimes discretely check colors that complement well when applying make up. I also own a medium shade (127) Make Up For Ever HD Foundation and HD Primer. The art supply brushes I use for applying cream/really pigmented products. The Studio Pop Palette from Smashbox is very versatile as it carries a lot of eyeshadow colrs, Blush, Bronzer and HIghlighter, Liners and Lip gloss.

Colorful palettes, the one on the left is composed of mostly 4U2, and a couple of Shu Uemura ones. The one on the right is the UD Vice Palette).

Last but not the least, my brushes. I won't go into detail anymore as to what they are as they deserve an entirely different blog post. But in case you are interested, they are mostly SIgma. I also have a MAC, some Artnet and Beauty Cosmetics brushes.

Please forgive the spellings, redundancies and grammatical errors, I did not have a chance to review what I wrote prior to posting That is because I am a sporadic blogger. Well, I am not really a 'blogger', but you get the picture.

Thank you and please also share with me the products you use!
